The new updated and awesome all around version of Grow Curriculum is out, and I am already looking forward to implementing everything this fall. One of the main things that Grow encourages you to do is to take a look at your overall yearly planning. The Grow Curriculum planning board which is a large posterboard where you can physically lay out the series, themes, games, meetings and more for your yearly planning strategy.
For a better idea of the yearly planning process I encourage you to watch Kenny and Elle’s video on How To Hold and Annual Planning Meeting
In a previous post I outlined how you can use Trello to make a digital version of this board. Now a new version of the curriculum has come out and several asked if I had created a new board. Here it is.
2018-2019 Grow Curriculum Trello Annual Planning Board
How to Use:
Copy and Save
I suggest that you copy the board and then save a version as your own.
Edit and Change
I have included all the cards with titles and color coded the same as the physical board. These are from the general outline given in the curriculum. In your meeting, you can move games around, change your series and more to fit the needs of your group and schedule.
Link and Insert
Trello cards allow you to add links and attachments. Add the graphics for your game and then add the instructions on how to play. Link the suggested parent emails so that you or volunteer can pull it up and paste it into your email.
Share With Your Team
Now you can share your program with your team. The person who does games can access all the game information. Those who create slides can have graphics, songs and more. Finally, you can show parents, staff, and your senior pastor how organized you are by sharing your plan directly with them.
Not Just Grow –
The awesome thing is that this is not just for Grow Curriculum. No matter what curriculum you use, this board and way of laying things out can be very helpful.
I hope this has been helpful. How else have you used trello in youth ministry? If you do not use Grow how could you adapt this for your ministry?
