This game is an easy way to take care of 30-45 minutes, with just a little preparation. It works best at a camp or retreat where students are sleeping over, but can be adapted for any size group by adjusting what items are on your list.
How To Play
1. Have students go to their cabins and put as many items as they can into a pillowcase. One pillowcase per group.
2. Students come back to the meeting room at the assigned time, and sit in a circle.
3. Have students dump out their pillow case filled with items.
4. Explain that you will be calling out two things. The first is the person to whom the the item should go, and second an item they may have in their possession.
5. Designate 3 or 4 people to be at different places in the room, this way the group sitting closest to the front does not have an advantage.
6. Call out something like, “I need the first group to take Miss Debbie, a toothbrush!”
7. Have the person receiving the item let you know which group won.
Prepare a list of many items ahead of time, but also walk around and see what the students brought and add to your list. Keep your list somewhere in your files, so that you can pull it up easily next time you are looking for a simple game.
